Hard-Shell系列定量PCR反应板采用了专利的双结构设计：裙边由硬质耐热聚合体铸造，而薄壁反应孔由纯净聚丙烯做成，具有低DNA吸附特性。这种构造避免了在单一聚丙烯成分PCR板因PCR反应热循环中高温暴露或热封时可能会发生的变形、收缩和粘连问题。适合使用 PX1 PCR 板密封器等仪器进行热密封的自动化机械操作流程。

此外，Hard-Shell结构PCR反应板还可耐受-80℃的超低温储存和大离心力离心操作。

反应板裙边分为全裙边（skirted）和半裙边（Semi-Skirted）两种。前者主要针对自动化机械臂工作流程设计，便于牢靠夹持和转移反应板。后者裙边高度较短。两种裙边均可粘贴条码，便于样品和实验数据溯源管理。

彩色裙边可选便于样品的分组和识别，黑色数字标识易于辨识。

白色反应孔可增强荧光信号以使检测灵敏度最大化，并防止邻近孔的荧光干扰。

反应孔维低位设计（Low-profile）。这种新型反应孔总高度约 15-16 mm，低于常规0.2mL PCR 管身度高（High-Profile，约20.0mm）。由于反应孔上部空间高度降低，降低形成冷凝死腔体积，减少蒸发体积。其次，由于管盖与液面高度降低，热盖与反应样品距离更近，因此在荧光分析中有利于收集到更多荧光信号。因而可支持更低反应体积体系（5–125μL），可用于快速定量PCR检测。

Hard-Shell系列低位白孔PCR反应板适用于以下实时荧光定量PCR仪：

Bio-Rad CFX系列：CFX Opus 96/CFX-96 touch/CFX 96、CFX Duet/CFX Connect、CFX 96 DeepWell；

Applied Biosystems Fast系列：7500 Fast、QuantStudio系列96-well fast、ViiA7 96-well fast和StepOne Plus、7900HT Fast。

Hard-Shell系列硬边框可采用光学八联管盖（适用于体积大于5 µl的PCR体系）或者Microseal B封板膜密封（体积大于10 µl 的PCR反应体系）。
